About the Author

Julia Serwaa Peterson is a Storyteller, Pop Culture Enthusiast, Communications Expert & Journalist. 

She was born and raised in  Ghana, West Africa, for 15 years before moving to the United States and residing in Western  Massachusetts. My experiences as an orphan, getting adopted by missionaries, and having to assimilate into a new culture and language in America. Has shaped what I write and why I have studied the field of communication passionately.

As a young kid, she has always had a passion for writing about music, poetry, and short stories, as well as for journaling. 

Job Experiences:
Staff Lifestyle Fashion Reporter- Six months currently at Gurrilla Magazine
Freelance Writer- Four years at the Hollywood Times, ending in 2025
Customer Service- Eleven years of experience in various customer service roles in different industries. 

AmeriCorps- 10-month youth outreach and community volunteer, leadership program for Dial/Self. AmeriCorps youth program in the area.

These opportunities led to work for other outlets and publications, including Blavity, MXDWN, Guerrilla Magazine, and Exhibit A Magazine. I cover popular culture, politics, entertainment, sex, mental health, religion, and movie reviews. I have an ever-flowing stream of ideas to share in this uncertain world.

Also, can cover academic writing pieces on Communication and New Media in the digital environment, including work, home, school, and social media.

My articles represent the new age of authentic, community-activism-driven content targeting Gen-Z and Millennials who are tired of mainstream propaganda and bought writing.

LOL What Now?
is a podcast that explores how society and popular culture connect, and it just happens to offer a dark, humorous insight into the mess of things. In fact, a good political talk show idea is to interview prominent celebrities and politicians and let the audience throw tomatoes and other objects at them if they feel inclined.

1. Studying for the LSAT to attend law school in the future, I want to work in the family court, advocating for abused women and children.
